At Focused Polygraph, we have received multiple inquiries from individuals who were not satisfied with a previous polygraph experience...

Here are 3 quick steps to select the best Polygraph Examiner in the DMV for what you need to accomplish....should take less than 10 minutes:

1. Verify their membership in one of the Professional Polygraph Organizations using one of the below links

The American Polygraph Association (APA), Maryland Polygraph Association (MPA), and the American Association for Police Polygraphists (AAPP) require all members to have attended an accredited Polygraph school. All three organizations require continuing education (CE) training on a regular basis and list current members and business websites (if applicable).

2. Check your potential Polygraph Examiner’s website for training and experience

Vague descriptions should be a red flag - if there is no mention of where they went to Polygraph school, how long they have been conducting Polygraph Examinations, or any other biographical information, make sure that you ask them some pointed questions before you consider giving them a deposit. To assist, here is a list of APA Accredited Polygraph Schools

3. Check their Better Business Bureau (BBB) status searching for “Polygraph”

The BBB is a non-profit organization established in 1912 that helps people find businesses that they can trust. To get accredited by BBB, a business undergoes a 4-6 week process and agrees to make good faith efforts to resolve any customer complaints. Checking the BBB status is another smart thing to do before you reach out to a potential Polygraph Examiner.

A few minutes of your time can save a great deal of frustration and wasted money when looking for a Polygraph Examiner. The polygraph can be a very effective tool for resolving domestic issues, false accusations, witness credibility questions, and many other challenges. Due diligence is a must and can be completed relatively quickly if you know where to look.
